We chose 18×18 porcelain tile from Lowes…looks a little like limestone but mostly like tile. Porcelain (vs. ceramic) is very hard which is great for durability but also makes it heavy. One box of six tiles weighs at least 60 pounds. Gianormous tiles are great to look [...]

A popular home improvement projects these days is to remove the acoustic/popcorn ceiling texture from 1970s era suburban homes. This finish was sprayed onto ceilings that were usually not floated and the texture was usually not painted, at least not at the time of installation.
