Twelve days after surgery Walt’s eyes are still bruised but look much better.

Commuter Zombies

My morning commute takes me through the intersection of Lamar and MLK. MLK has been under construction for years now, at least it feels that way. There are many orange cones and wooden barricades that block access to MLK from Lamar. From either direction on Lamar a flashing sign tells drivers where to detour.

When Walt decided to get vision correction surgery he took off his glasses and told me, “I’ll look like bedtime Wally all the time.”
The surgery was Tuesday. He was sleepy. His eye hurt. The sun was tremendously bright even through the blackest of all sunglasses. He slept the entire afternoon.
