I am putting together a plant library for our website of plants we like to use. Wondering if it would be OK to use your variegated St Augustine photo & give you credit–my boss has some in a planter but it looks a little pathetic right now to photograph.

Walt also liked the patterned fabric. But I’m going with the fuzzy blue one from SunBrella.

I had a decorator over at the house yesterday and we determined that to keep the living room from looking Early Vincent Price it was best to choose modern fabrics for the upholstery and pillows. The patterned fabric leans toward traditional so it’s off the list.

We also decided to use the same fabric on both sofas for a more streamlined design overall. Different pillows on each will add some punch and interest that don’t require a long term commitment.

I enjoyed looking at all your photos. Glad you didn’t use the fan on your patio. Hopefully, the baby bird was able to get back in the nest.

You did a great job with your chair (love the pictures since I can see the steps involved), and the living room is really coming together. The rug looks good and so do your blue and white objects on top of the entertainment center. Regarding the fabric, I like the patterned (stylized diamonds) one, but I’m not sure whether or not you would want to use the same fabric on both sofas; however, since they’re not the same size, it might be good to do that.

Do you have scars on your knees from falling during the race? They looked pretty painful.

I fertilized with a generic fertilizer in April right before a rain and started watering about an inch a week. My front lawn looks amazing, my back is looking much better.

I’m considering expanding the back patio which is concrete with more concrete so that the patio extends the length of the house. That means less grass, but will probably keep a strip between the patio and garden.

I like the Chinese Pistache. Very drought tolerant, but I was growing in a Bermuda lawn,whick requires less water than the broader leaved St. Augustine types. Note: We didn’t have the sex of Chinese Pistache that is messy.

There was a NOT needed in the line, “…established trees, but I would NOT fertilize for the first two years.”

I agree with using the stone for walkways, but would take it further. I’d put in a stone patio, and create openings within the stone for plantings and lights. Maybe a water feature/pond like fountain or bubbler, that would provide fresh water for the dogs, and and a soothing background noise for you.
